This workshop is all about experiencing Prague through your cameraand learning to see the city in new and different ways.
Together, we’ll explore the streets, architecture, people, details and atmosphere of Prague. We’ll work with different perspectives and angles, and look at how light, shadows, reflections, foreground elements and composition can transform an ordinary scene into a great photograph.
Sometimes the best images are not the obvious ones. A different viewpoint, a small detail or simply being in the right place at the right moment can make all the difference. During the workshop, we’ll spend plenty of time in the streets, actively looking for these opportunities and experimenting with different ways of photographing them.
The workshop is primarily hands-on and practical. There will be some theory, but we keep it to a minimum. Instead, we discuss photography while we are actually taking photographs. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions about camera settings, exposure, composition and technique throughout the workshop.
We’ll also explore Prague after dark, with a dedicated night shoot, giving you the opportunity to work with artificial light, reflections, movement and the unique atmosphere of the city at night. Depending on the group, this can also be replaced by an early-morning photo walk.
My goal is simple: I want you to return home with a camera full of images you are proud of, new photographic experiences and a fresh inspiration to keep photographing.
More importantly, I want you to become better at seeing– not just looking. Because once you learn to see the possibilities around you, you can create stronger and more personal images wherever you are.
Prague is a fantastic city for photography. Its combination of historic architecture, narrow streets, beautiful squares, trams, bridges, people and everyday street lifeprovides an almost endless number of photographic opportunities.
The city is particularly well suited to exploring on foot, allowing us to move through different neighbourhoods and discover new motifs as we go. When needed, we can also use Prague's excellent tram system to reach other interesting parts of the city.
From the iconic and historic areas to quieter streets and less obvious locations, Prague offers a wonderful mix of old and new, grand and intimate, busy and peaceful.
And because we are not following a rigid tourist itinerary, we can adapt the workshop to the weather, light and interests of the group. Sometimes the best photographic experiences are the ones you didn't plan for.
Prague becomes our classroom – and your camera is the most important piece of equipment.
Day by day
14:00-18:00
Meet and greet. For us all to get to know each other, and for the tutor to "feel" you.
We will also spend some time planning what to see and where to go the next 2 days.
We meet at a central location in Prague and begin the day based on the plans we made together the day before.
Depending on what the group has decided, we may explore the streets of central Prague on foot or take the tram to one of the city’s many beautiful and inspiring locations. The focus is on photographing, exploring and finding interesting subjects along the way.
Around 12:00–14:00, we take a well-deserved break. This is your time to relax, grab some lunch, explore on your own – or simply take your camera for a personal walk and see what you can discover.
At 14:00, we meet up again and continue with the second part of the day, following the plan we agreed on together.
No two days need to be the same. We let the city, the light and the group’s interests help shape the day – while keeping the focus firmly on photography and having a great experience in Prague.
Day Three follows much the same format as Day Two. We continue exploring Prague, photographing different locations and working with the subjects, light and opportunities the city has to offer.
The exact plan for the day will be decided together, allowing us to adapt to the interests of the group and, of course, the weather and light.
In the evening, we head out for a night shoot, exploring Prague after dark and working with artificial light, reflections, movement and the unique atmosphere of the city at night.
If the group prefers, we can instead start early and do a morning shoot, taking advantage of the beautiful morning light and quieter streets before the city wakes up.
The choice is yours – the goal is to make the most of the conditions and create great images along the way.
10:00-14:00
Day Four is all about looking back at what we have learned and experienced during the workshop – while continuing to photograph and explore Prague.
We spend the morning on a relaxed photography walk through the city, talking about composition, exposure, light and the different techniques we have worked with during the workshop. And, of course, there will always be time to stop and look for a few more interesting motifs along the way.
We may also take a break at a local café for a coffee or tea, giving us time to chat about photography, look back at some of the images we have taken and share experiences from the workshop.
It is a relaxed and enjoyable way to finish the workshop – with the camera in hand, the city around us and plenty of opportunities to take those last great images of Prague.

For most of you, he most convenient way to reach Prague is by plane.
From the airport you will want to take an either a bus or, as I prefer her, a Taxi. Bolt is having a very good service in Prague (and pays the drivers decently)

Fot the course you will need to bring a camera. If you have a fancy DSLR, a standard compact camera og "just" uses your phone, any of those will do. For those with "fancy" cameras, there, of course will be more in-depth tutoring abt. shitterspeed, aperture and so on, but composition and "seeing" the motif - is the same for all cameras.
For the (D)SLR people I would usually recommend a standard zoom and a tripod for evening shots.
For registring to the workshop, please go here (bottom of this page), fill out the form and we will send you detailed payment information. Once your payment is registered, your participation is guaranteed.
As is well known, the weather can be difficult to predict, but generally I have had good experiences.

I have been photographing since I was six years old, and over a lifetime behind the camera I have developed extensive experience across a wide range of photographic disciplines. After several years working at Japan Photo in Norway, I recognized a clear need for a more practical and accessible approach to teaching photography. This insight became the foundation for the courses and workshops I lead today. My motto is: “Photography is not learned in a classroom.” With this as a guiding principle, most of the teaching takes place out in the field, where we work hands-on with the camera. Here, we focus on practical details, ask questions, and learn from each other in real situations. A key part of my teaching is helping participants develop the ability to truly “see” their subjects—whether it’s choosing the right angle, understanding light and exposure, or identifying the perfect moment to capture an image. My workshops also allow time for meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and the occasional coffee break along the way. I place strong emphasis on personal guidance, ensuring that each participant receives tailored support—whether you shoot with a smartphone or advanced camera equipment. My photographic style is broad and diverse, ranging from urban and landscape photography to wildlife, village life in India, urban decay, and artistic nude photography.
